Northern Lights Sanctuary 2006
John Shipman
Northern Lights Sanctuary 2006 is a multi-channel sound and light installation that represents the phenomena of Northern Lights in darkened interior space of a large church.
This twelve-hour multi-channel light and sound installation by John Shipman, with live violin by May Ing Ruehle, explores the hardly-heard and the barely-seen ? from radio and television communications to the aurora borealis ? above a field of illuminated Platonic solids in the maindarkened sanctuary of St. Matthew?s United Church.
