Wonderful Nuit - Taking Art to New Heights
Various artists
The CN Tower will feature two unprecedented and unique contemporary art experiences for this one evening.
The CN Tower and Ontario Crafts Council, each celebrating 30 year anniversaries in 2006, will present live interactive demonstrations by renowned OCC artists throughout the night in the CN Tower's Retail Store. Seven artisan demonstration areas will include wood-carving, basketry, ceramics, pottery, jewellery design and knitting. Renowned OCC artists will include Gillian Batcher, Ian Chung, Andrew Kellner, Carol Ann Michaelson, Carey Nicholson, HeidiOverhill and Rudy Schafron. Visitors will also have an opportunity to participate in the inspiration and execution of a unique 3-dimensional creation of public art and craft by designing tiles that will be used to create a permanent installation at the CN Tower.
During Scotiabank Nuit Blanche only, the CN Tower, in partnership with CONTACT Toronto Photography Festival, will allow visitors unprecedented overnight access to the Sky Pod, the world's highest man-made observation level, for the unique purpose of creating photo submissions to a contemporary photo-based art installation. Images from the event will be featured in an exhibition at the CN Tower during CONTACT 2007. This activity is by special reservation only through

. Limited space available.
Complimentary access will be available for Nuit Blanche activities located in the CN Tower's Retail Store (at the base of the Tower) and the special photography opportunity in the Sky Pod (with reservation).
