Canadian Music Centre (CMC)
Dream House - Window on Music
David Ogborn

For one night, sound artist David Ogborn transforms Chalmers House -- the Canadian Music Centre's national home in downtown Toronto -- into a giant dreaminstrument. Ogborn will create a multi-level sound installation through which the public may directly experience the creative voices of some 650 Canadian composers. By mining and manipulating the CMC's extensive audio collections, David will assemble, sequence and stream a series of vignettes into various galleries. Chalmers House will literally come alive with music, as each sound gallery interacts with the characteristics and personality of the space, occasionally interrupted by moments of complete synchronicity. This programme is part of the CMC's New Music in New Places series.
