Dancing in the Street
Cylla von Tiedemann, Joël Bénard and Students of Canada’s National Ballet School
The new Celia Franca Centre's dramatic set of glass studios facing Jarvis Street provides a window to the world of elite ballet training, beckoning passing pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to make art part of their daily lives. For Nuit Blanche, these studios become a giant screen, projecting a montage of photographic images of dance students brilliantly captured by established photographers, Cylla von Tiedemann and Joël Bénard, and emerging artists, National Ballet School students themselves.
